New Zealand Fly Fishing Trips

Fly Fishing Guiding Options

I live in trout fishing paradise, surrounded on all sides by rivers and lakes full of fat trout. The famous Tongariro river is close by and a good option for fresh run steelhead rainbow trout and large brown trout, there is also Lake Otamangakau which is a trophy trout lake where each year my happy clients catch rainbow trout and brown trout over that magical 10lb mark well worth a try.

The fishing options are many and plentiful and what is unique for New Zealand is that in this area you can fish 365 days a year unlike other regions that have closed seasons and can only fish for about half the year. There is fishing for all levels of fishing ability and fitness, as I guide folk of all shapes and size and of all ages, I can find water that suits your preferred fishing option. I have listed below some of the options on offer to give you a flavour of what is on offer, and will give us something to talk about when you call to book your trip.

If you want big fighting fish in back country rivers: JASON's your man. If you want dry fly action in the Tongariro: JASON's your man. If you want huge fish from Lake 'O': JASON's your man. Apres fishing, you'll enjoy a few bitterly cold drinks and then partake of Tracey's beautiful gourmet meals. Just do it, book in to Troutbeck Lodge. We had the best week ever and will be back next year for sure.
